AZTTY LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the mobile application “Plant Identifier – Scan Plant” (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use the App. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

a. Information You Provide

  • Account Information: If you sign in with your email, we collect your email address and any other information you provide during registration or account management.
  • Subscription Information: If you purchase a subscription, we use RevenueCat to manage payments and subscriptions. Payment details are handled by Apple’s In-App Purchase system; we do not collect or store your credit card information.

b. Information Collected Automatically

  • Device and Usage Data: We may collect information about your device, such as device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, IP address, and app usage data (e.g., features used, crash reports).
  • Photos and Camera Access: The App uses your device’s camera or photo library to scan and identify plants. Photos are temporarily processed for identification and are not stored on our servers unless you explicitly save identification results in your account (if applicable). We do not retain your photos permanently.

c. Data Processed via Third-Party Services

  • Plant Identification: When you scan a plant, the photo is sent to the OpenAI API for AI-based analysis and identification. OpenAI processes the image to generate the identification result. We do not use this data to train OpenAI models, and OpenAI’s default policy applies zero-retention for abuse monitoring unless otherwise specified (see OpenAI’s policies for details).
  • No personal identifiers are attached to the images sent to OpenAI beyond what is necessary for processing.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide and improve the App’s features, including plant identification.
  • Manage your account and subscriptions.
  • Process in-app purchases via RevenueCat.
  • Analyze usage to enhance the App (anonymized where possible).
  • Respond to your inquiries or support requests.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. Sharing Your Information

We share information only as described below:

  • Service Providers:

  • RevenueCat: Used for subscription management. Data is anonymized where possible (e.g., using anonymous user IDs). See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.

  • Apple: For in-app purchases and App Store compliance.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in response to valid legal processes.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

4. Data Storage and Security

  • Your account data (e.g., email) is stored securely via Supabase.
  • Photos are processed in real-time and not stored long-term on our servers.
  • We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data, but no system is completely secure.

5. Data Retention

  • We retain your account information as long as your account is active.
  • Subscription data is retained as needed for billing and legal purposes.
  • Temporary processing data (e.g., photos sent to OpenAI) is deleted immediately after use.
  • You can request deletion of your account data by contacting us.

6. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete it.

7. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access, update, or delete your account data via the App or by contacting us.
  • Opt out of certain features (e.g., disable camera access in device settings).
  • For residents of certain regions (e.g., EEA, California), you may have additional rights under applicable laws, such as data portability or objection to processing.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the App or email.
